Meet Joanna, who is standing for Trustee election
Senior Lecturer in Tissue Viability
Birmingham City University
I have an MSc in Tissue Repair and Wound Healing and a PG Cert in Teaching in Higher Education. I run courses for predominantly post-registration health care practitioners in practice, community, wound care, paediatric and general nursing, alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists and other allied health care professionals (HCP).
I still practice clinically as a TVN to maintain my skills and to maintain an understanding of the current issues facing staff day-to-day in wound management.
I have been a Trustee of the Society since 2018 and am proud to be part of the work, education and campaigns that have made a positive impact for HCPs and patients. I believe my current roles keep me at the centre of wound management and I remain as passionate as ever about the positive changes that can happen when collaborating with a team of equally committed HCPs. I would relish the opportunity to continue on the Board of Trustees.
