EWMA Antimicrobial Document now available on-line

EWMA’s Document on Antimicrobials was published in connection with their 2013 conference in Copenhagen and it is now available for free download from the Journal of Wound Care website using this link:

From mid-August it will be available for download at www.EWMA.org

The overall aim of the document is to highlight current knowledge regarding use of antimicrobials, particularly in non-healing wounds, to discuss what still is controversial, and give suggestions for future actions.

Proactive Dissemination
Launch of the document is not the end – it is the beginning!
The intention of the document is to present a platform of viewpoints from which EWMA can build messages for the different stakeholders, including patients, health professionals, policy makers, politicians, industry and hospital administrators.

EWMA takes this commitment seriously and besides forthcoming presentations of the document at conferences, they aim to give the document a long, meaningful life. Some immediate actions are to boil down the document to an executive summary and to develop a short policy-paper targeting decision-makers.

As a co-operating organisation EWMA would like to work in close collaboration with you on this, so please do not hesitate to contact them if you have ideas or requests for (local) dissemination and advocacy activities.
