Burns and Plastic Surgery: Optimising skin health and wound healing study day

Our free full day educational sessions promote the best practices in skin health and wound healing

Overview

Plastic surgery is the restoration of form, function and appearance of soft tissues following injury, surgery, trauma or cancer. It is a complex and multi-faceted speciality that supports a broad range of clinical areas across surgery, medicine, emergency and elective services.

Complex wound management is an integral aspect of any burns and plastic surgery service and requires highly skilled practitioners to drive quality improvement and the delivery of advanced wound care practice. In recent years, a more joined up approach has been adopted between plastic surgery, tissue viability services and those generalist nursing services that deliver the majority of wound care in the UK. This collaboration provides opportunities to engage in shared visions, supports best practice, strengthens wound care services and highlights the importance of engaging all clinicians who deliver wound care with this forward thinking approach.

Who’s the Burns and Plastic Surgery: Optimising skin health and wound healing study day suitable for?

This study day is aimed at specialist clinicians working in burns and plastic surgery services, nurses working in both acute and community/ primary care settings whose role includes wound care, other clinicians/ AHPs with an interest in wound care and academics or researchers with an interest in this topic.
