Background

The team of researchers and clinicians from King’s College London and the University of Surrey are interested in the assessment of skin changes in people with dark skin tones. Recent research has highlighted there are unwarranted variations in practice when assessing skin changes in people with dark skin tones which has a negative impact on patient outcomes. However, little is known about the experiences of people assessing skin changes in peripheral arterial disease and chronic venous insufficiency. They feel this is important as these skills are often picked up in practice as little is written about this in the current national and international guidelines.

This study is funded by the Kings Undergraduate Research Fellowship (KURF). An undergraduate student will be conducting interviews and be involved in the data analysis. This study has gone through the Kings College London ethical approval process and has been approved (Reference: LRS/DP-22/23-36610)

Interviews will be conducted online and last up to 1 hour. A £12.50 e-voucher is offered as a thank you for your time. Closing date for interviews is the 8 September 2023
