Deborah Chester Bessell
Deborah qualified as an adult nurse in 2015, and began her career as a community staff nurse, quickly transitioning to a caseload holder role. Deborah’s passion for wound care and leg ulcer management naturally led her to specialise in tissue viability. As a Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist, she honed her skills and deepened her expertise in this critical area of healthcare.
Deborah’s journey then took her into the realm of education, where she now serves as a module lead at the University of Salford. She oversees postgraduate courses in tissue viability and leg ulcer care, sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of nurses.
In addition to Deborah’s teaching responsibilities, she has ventured into the world of publication, with aspirations to contribute more extensively to the field. Her career reflects a commitment to continuous learning and a dedication to improving patient outcomes through both clinical practice and education.
