Rosie Dear

Rosie qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1995 and has since worked mainly in the fields of Hand Trauma and Burns and Plastics.
Over the years she has presented at Local, National and more recently International levels and would describe herself as an extremely enthusiastic and passionate practitioner and a lifelong learner.
She loves being a mum, sports, the outdoor life and food!

Non-operative scar management
The presentation will cover the scar management principles and practice currently being carried out at Leicester, including:
- Assessment of scarring – getting to really understand individual needs and goals
- Establishing a baseline – gathering useful data
- Assessment – risks and terminology
- Management of the healing wound/early scar including early function, positioning, splinting and taping, and education/advice/management of expectations
