Dementia care is delicate and complex, filled with nuances and challenges. We recognise it is not fueled by the pursuit of a cure. Rather, it is care rooted in the fundamental idea that behind each challenge is a unique individual with an unmet emotional or physical need that requires understanding and assistance.

Due to the progressive nature of dementia and the potential presence of other chronic underlying conditions that may already affect mobility, the declining ability of the person to understand the task to be completed, along with communication challenges, it is easy to appreciate that pressure area care,  hygiene care, mobility, and safe moving and handling are potentially complex aspects of supporting people with dementia.
