Stop the Pressure

A pioneering campaign to eliminate avoidable pressure ulcers in all health and care settings

Pressure ulcers are a concerning and largely avoidable harm associated with healthcare delivery (NHS Improvement, 2018)

That’s why we are excited to be collaborating with representatives from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for the 2022 Stop the Pressure campaign – spearheading a #4Nations approach that supports and advances International Stop the Pressure Day

Stop The Pressure aims to create a significant culture shift and eliminate avoidable pressure ulcers in all health and care settings

Key dates

  • International Stop the Pressure Day is 17 November 2022
  • Activities will take place over the week commencing 14 November 2022

Our message

‘Risk assessment, your call to action for pressure ulcer prevention’

Our involvement in the campaign

The #4Nations will play a vital role in giving health and care professionals the resources and support they need to champion this campaign. We are planning a variety of activities to support health and care professionals, including:

  • free webinars with expert speakers leading informative debates

  • social media graphics/avatars
  • and much more!

You can get involved by:

  • Hosting educational activities on prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers
  • Organising awareness raising events to share information about pressure ulcers
  • Reaching out to your local community to inform them about pressure ulcers
  • Contacting policy makers to make them aware of pressure ulcers
