A survey of vascular assessment in clinical practice

Society of Tissue Viability members are being invited to contribute to research led by Professor Charmaine Childs (speaker at SoTV conference 2023), with Dr Natasha Levy ( SoTV Trustee Alumni), Professor Karen Ousey and Dr Leanne Atkin working as co-investigators

The survey forms part of a larger Medical Research Council funded project which is looking to explore the use of technology to help with arterial assessment in the lower limb and foot. The team want to gather feedback from any health care professional involved in lower limb vascular assessments for those with or suspected Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD).

Background

To understand whether there is potential usefulness from a new method of vascular assessment. Our new method is a non-invasive, non-contact, fast and relatively inexpensive imaging technology that could have potential as a screening and diagnostic tool in future vascular assessment options.

This questionnaire has been designed to explore your feedback on the assessment methods that you use currently in hospitals and the community for people who, from their history and symptoms, are suspected of PAD or who may be at risk of developing it. Your answers will help us to appreciate whether a new method to assess the state of the arterial circulation of the extremities, particularly the foot, might have a place in vascular assessment and where, in the clinical pathway, it might be most useful.

Who can complete the Survey?

Any healthcare professional involved in lower limb vascular assessments.

What does it involve?

The survey explores your profession, level of qualification and the types of vascular assessments that you use. The survey will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.

Deadline

31 October 2024
