The service user involvement made us all reflect on our daily clinical practice

Michelle Wilkinson, Infection Prevention and Control - Tissue Viability Nurse at NHS Shetland was one of the Society funded winners to attend the EPUAP 2023 conference in Leeds

Attending the EPUAP conference in Leeds provided me with the opportunity to expand my knowledge, learn and help improve patient care through quality improvement, focusing on how we can change our current practice.

The theme for the conference was ‘Involving service users in PU research and priorities’ I found the Pressure Ulcer Research Service User Network UK group (PURSUN) interesting and useful.

On my return I provided colleagues with an update of the conference at our monthly Tissue Viability link nurse meeting. The service user involvement made us all reflect on our daily clinical practice.

Attending the conference also provides the opportunity to network, meet new people and exchange ideas, while learning from others with the same interest.
