Abbie works as a Speech and Language Therapist on acute wards, assessing and managing swallowing and communication difficulties within a variety of medical specialities, including dementia and healthcare of the older person.

Abbie is passionate about the role inter-professional education in order to improve patient care. She believes empowering other members of the MDT to develop skills to understand and manage communication and swallowing difficulties would improve patients experience and outcomes.

Alongside her day job, Abbie also works for a charity called Future Frontline, who provide webinars and workshops to healthcare students and professionals on areas such as roles and responsibilities of the MDT, leadership, job/university application tips, and equality and diversity.
