Claire Lusted

Claire is a Cutaneous Lymphoma & Melanoma Advanced Nurse Practitioner at St John’s Institute of Dermatology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust.  She manages a complex caseload of cutaneous lymphoma and melanoma patients and leads a team of six clinical nurse specialists.

She has over 20 years’ experience as a cancer nurse, working in a variety of specialist nursing roles. She has a BSc in Cancer Nursing, an MSc in Advanced Practice, is a non-medical prescriber and is trained in dermoscopy.

Claire has presented at national and international conferences, has contributed to the development of national clinical guidelines, is a member of the Board of Trustees of the British Dermatology Nursing Group (BDNG) and the co-founder of the Cutaneous Lymphoma International Nurses Network (CLINN).

Sunscreen and Sun Safety: myth busting

Abstract

This session will consider the evidence for current sun safety advice and the impact of social media, AI and social and cultural attitudes to skin cancer.  It will discuss the use of sunbeds, vitamin D guidance and consider advice for high-risk groups.  It will signpost to high quality skin cancer information and support available.
