Samantha Wharton
Sam is a tissue viability specialist nurse at Buckinghamshire NHS trust. The Trust covers both community and acute services which allows continuity of care for patients.
She’s been working in the field of tissue viability for over 10 years. Sam completed a BSc in tissue viability in 2015 and is currently completing her MSc in skin integrity and wound management.
As well as working as a Tissue Viability Nurse, Sam has also spent some time working at Guy’s and St Thomas Hospital as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the epidermolysis bullosa team. She’s passionate about ensuring patients get the right assessment and treatment at the right time in relation to their wound care and also strives to ensure that both patients and colleagues are supported in all aspects of wound care. Sam continues to promote tissue viability as a specialty.
