Presentation at the Optimising wound healing study day
Optimising skin health and wound healing using the principals of lifestyle medicine
Abstract
Lifestyle medicine looks at how everyday choices around diet, activity, sleep and stress can influence our overall health. What’s less well known is how much these same factors affect skin health, wound healing and even wound prevention.
In this session we’ll explore the role lifestyle plays in skin integrity and repair, and how small, practical changes can make a real difference to patients with wounds. We’ll also look at how people can access lifestyle medicine and how we, as clinicians, can weave these principles into wound care.
