The Webinars
- Implementing shared decision making in practice, 2nd September with our Trustee Prof Alf Collins, former national director for personalised care at NHS England, member and patient Jess Plant, and consultant neurosurgeon Mr Paul Grundy.
- In conversation with the Patient Safety Commissioner, 2nd September. Dr Henrietta Hughes and our Chief Executive Rachel Power will discuss the Commissioner’s work over the last year, which includes Martha’s Rule and the redress scheme for patients affected by sodium valproate and pelvic mesh.
- Barriers to care faced by those with cancer and blood disorders, 3rd September with patient Ram Paul, John James OBE Chief Executive at the Sickle Cell Society, and Alfie Bailey-Bearfield, Head of Health Improvement & Influencing at Pancreatic Cancer UK . They’ll discuss reducing health disparities and improving access to care for underserved communities living with cancer and blood disorders.
- Empowering patients as equal partners in care, 4th September, researchers from the University of Bristol and Haris Sultan, NExT Director for Citizens and Future Generations, will discuss why some healthcare professionals ignore, dismiss, or explain away patients’ testimonies about their health.
- Effective communication strategies for informed patients, 5th September with Director of Participatory Programmes at Demos, Miriam Levin, and patients Rajendra Patel and Matthew Riley, on how critical communication is in the provision of excellent healthcare.
- The role of data in joining services around patients, 6th September with Rebecca Llewellyn, Federated Data Platform Programme Delivery Director at NHS England, and members and patients Amin Islam and Sandra Rennie looking at how data can improve patients’ experiences.
